FARM 1 ‐ Broiler Sheds ‘Brubri’

Features

  • A  good quality broiler shed development, with eight large broiler sheds erected in 2002, with concrete floors.
  • The eight sheds are all identical, and are constructed of steel clear span frame, insulated sandwich panel roof with additional iron covering constructed 2011, sandwich panel walls, sandwich panel insulated ceilings, and concrete dwarf perimeter walls.
  • All sheds include control room for Rotem controllers/lights.
  • All the eight sheds are 165 metres x 16 metres (2,640 sqm each).  That is 21,120 sqm in total gross broiler shed area.
  • We note that the net bird area for calculations as per grower contract is 2,508 sqm per shed i.e. total of 20,064 sqm. The sheds are usually stocking rate in a range of approx. 47,000 birds per shed.

Climate Control

  • All the sheds are equipped with Rotem Platinum Plus climate control systems, (hardware upgrade 2014, software upgrade 2019), which operate the fully automated ventilation system. Each shed is equipped with 10x 142cm tunnel fans, currently specced at 2.7m/s, under static pressure.
  • Each shed is also equipped with tube radiant heaters, installed 2014.
  • The sheds are fitted with cool cell specced for over 3m/s windspeed.
  • Mini vent system meeting all current standard industry requirements.

Feed System

  • The sheds are equipped with four lines of Roxel pan feeders, meeting all current industry requirements, with electric winch up facilities.
  • Feed from the storage silos enters the centre of the building and is distributed along the feed lines from this central point.
  • The feed storage silo facilities include 3 x 40 tonne, per two sheds (12 silos overall).
  • Truck fill points OUTSIDE production are excellent bio-security measure.

Water System

  • Each shed is equipped with five lines of Plasson nipple with cup drinkers meeting all current standard industry requirements. Water on demand wired to controllers also fitted.

Security

  • Remote access cameras fitted to all egress and access areas.

Biosecurity

  • Entry to production area via Change Room with shower, 2x toilets and foot bath.
  • Vehicle entry to complex via automated wheel wash.
  • Machinery wash bay external to complex
  • Fastfill water hydrant in complex

Large Workshop

Features

  • There are 8 new sheds, constructed in 2013.  These are constructed of steel frames,  concrete floors and concrete dwarf walls.
  • Sandwich panel insulated walls (40mm), galvanised and painted steel coated with super polyester larger metal sheets ‐  Colorbond roof, Trimdeck ceiling with insulation, between ceiling and roof.
  • Each shed has a control room attached to house controllers, etc.
  • The net bird area for calculations as per grower contract is 2,508 sqm per shed i.e. total of 20,064 sqm. The sheds are usually stocking rate in a range of approx. 47,000 birds per shed.

Water Sanitation/Filtration System & Storage

  • All water filtered and treated before entering storage tanks
  • Filtration by self-cleaning screen filters
  • Water treatment via Chlorine Dioxide.
  • Chlorine Dioxide Generator installed 2018 with remote monitoring for alarms, remote endpoint (end of drinker-line monitoring)
  • Storage – water storage on farm in excess of 1 megalitre, 10x tanks for excellent redundancy.
  • Water mains – delivery of water to farm via network of underground mains- 3 separate undergrounds, & 4x individual submersible pumps to provide excellent redundancy and ability to pump/store water in flood conditions.

Offices

  • Office complex consisting of 2 offices, NBN Wireless installed, laminate floating floors. Office furniture remain.
  • Poultry office, with adjoining lunchroom, toilets, shower, NBN radio enabled, all alarm and poultry tech systems fully operational.

Accommodation

  • 3x room itinerant employee accommodation block, laundry, kitchen bathroom, tiled rumpus area, with rainwater storage tank.
  • NBN wireless installed, and radio linked to Poultry office.
